Airport Check In

For all our flights; passengers are required to check-in at least two hours before departure of the scheduled flight (irrespective of class of travel).Note that counters close Forty five minutes (45mins) prior to departure. 

At check in counters and/or prior to boarding, hand baggage that exceeds the allowed limits must be checked-in prior to boarding, hand baggage that exceeds the allowed limits will be collected and stored in the aircraft cargo compartment and an excess baggage fee may be charged if the combined weight with bags already checked-in exceeds your allowance.

Weapons such as antique firearms, swords, knives and similar items may be acceptable as checked baggage, at our discretion, but will not be permitted in the cabin of the aircraft. You must remove all valuables such as jewelry, precious metals, computers, personal electronic devices, business documents, passports and other identification documents from your checked baggage.

Sports equipment

All Sports equipment on Air Uganda will transported as checked baggage. 

Security guidelines

Thorough security checks are carried out at all airports that Air Uganda operates from. At these checks, local authorities will confiscate items of potential danger to the aircraft or its passengers, eg pocket knives, scissors, and any bladed or sharp items. If these items are handed over to Air Uganda by the authorities, they will be kept at the intercepted airports, after which, they will be disposed of. They will not be forwarded to your destination or delivered to you. To avoid possible inconvenience, we suggest that you pack such items in your checked baggage. Air Uganda will not be responsible for, nor have any liability in respect of, items removed from passengers or their baggage by airport security personnel acting in accordance with international or government regulations, whether or not any such items are subsequently retained or destroyed by such airport security personnel, or are passed by such airport security personnel to us.
