We take every step to ensure that your child's travel is safe and comfortable.
Unaccompanied Minors and Young Adults
We offer special assistance for children or young adults travelling by themselves.
Throughout the journey - from check-in for the flight, to arrival at the final destination - your child is always under someone's care. This service is offered to our young passengers from 5 to under 18 years of age, if an adult aged 18 years and above is not travelling with them on the same flight and cabin class. Children under the age of 5 are not allowed to travel alone.
This service is mandatory for unaccompanied children aged 5 and under 12 years, and is optional for those aged 12 to under 18 years old.
So when your child has to travel alone, book a flight with Air Uganda.
Once you have booked the flight(s) through your local Air Uganda office or travel agent, simply download and complete the "UM Handling form" and contact the Air Uganda office to let us know that your child requires the service. We will then make the necessary arrangements that will ensure that your child is looked after in the best possible way. If your child is travelling on a flight operated by other airlines, please contact the airline directly to find out about their policies for children travelling unaccompanied.
Please be advised that if your child requires the service, you will not be able to make the booking through our website.
If you do not wish to use this service, and your child is aged 12 to 18 years, you can choose to waive the Unaccompanied Minor service. You can make the flight booking for your child via our website, our Air Uganda or your local travel agent.

Travelling with an Infant or Child
It is not recommended for infants to travel within the first 7 days of birth and definitely not acceptable within the first 48 hours of birth. For a passenger travelling alone with two infants, you are required to travel with another able-bodied adult to help care for the second infant.
Generally, medical conditions should not inhibit you from flying. However, due to cabin pressure equivalent to atmospheric pressure at 5000 to 7000 altitude, special precautions are sometimes required. For further information, please refer to the details below.

MEDIF: For passengers requiring special assistance
If you have any specific medical questions or concerns, please consult your medical practitioner on your fitness to travel and bring sufficient medication for your trip. Do note that we require medical clearance from a certified medical doctor when fitness to travel is in doubt.
